A few photos from Saturday 10th October at the GCR gala, had a wonderful time, where engines were every few minutes throughout the day, altogether, there were seven engines in steam.
17th Aug 2009A visit to the GCR
(16.08.09) Paid a visit to the GCR (Loughborough), where the highlight were two tank engines having alternate passenger runs throughout the day
    2nd Feb 2009GCR. Winter Gala 31st Jan 2009
For my first outing this year I spent a very enjoyable few hours at the GCR
    2nd Nov 20081st Nov 08 GCR
Spent the late morning and early afternoon down at the GCR. Looking around the engine sheds briefly, before taking a couple of shots further down the line
    13th Oct 2008Western Region
For me it is always a delight to see a GWR engine, especially on the mainline. Here are the photos I have managed to get so far.
12th Oct 2008Great Central Railway (Gala)
This was the first time I had paid a visit to the GCR. I was looking forward to seeing the brand new A1. So I found a spot and spent a very enjoyable few hours.
    6th Oct 2008NYMR
I have only paid a couple of visits to the NYMR, but to get so close to working engines and, walking around the sheds with all the sights, sounds and smells this brings is a wonderful experience. I will be going there again.
    5th Oct 2008BR and SR
I have put two classes together here, seeing as I have only got photos of one SR.
It was 70013 that started my interest in steam locos years ago. As child I was being taken on holiday by my parents, stopping in March Station for a while, there they were, Oliver Cromwell, John Bunyan and John of Gaunt, all shining and looking new. Some things you never forget.
    2nd Oct 2008LNER
I think it is very hard to beat the sound of an A4 at full steam with whistle blowing. So it is so nice to be able to hear this once more.
    28th Sep 2008LMS
Fifty years ago LMS were my favourite engines, probably because I lived within a mile from the St Pancras - Leeds line.
Regular visits to Crewe in those days only added to the feeling.
So it is nice to be able to see and photograph a few of these again.
